2013 Audi A4 and A4 Allroad on display at the 2012 Detroit show are on the way to spruce up the A4 lineup in the U.S. The 2013 A4 has undergone a mild update that's most apparent right up front where it's sporting a new nose similar to that of the all-new A6. Other changes include a new, on-demand, electric power steering system and some small refinements to the engine and drivetrain that will hopefully result in small fuel economy improvements.
New for the U.S. but familiar to other markets, the Allroad replaces the slow-selling A4 Avant station wagon in the U.S. Like the A6 Allroad before it, the A4 Allroad combines a more rugged look with increased ground clearance, making it something of a quasi-crossover. Mechanically identical to the standard A4, the A4 Allroad is 2.5 inches taller, which translates to an impressive 7.1 inches of ground clearance.
